For My Thoughts Are Not Your Thoughts: Bible Verse Insight'

When we think about our thoughts, we often assume they're normal and natural. But the Bible reveals that evil thoughts are entirely against God's nature. In Genesis 6:5, it says, 'Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.' This sin has affected everyone's thoughts, making it challenging for us to understand what God is thinking.

As believers, we know that God is our authority in every area, including our thoughts. His thoughts are righteous, pure, and holy, which means we should model our thoughts after them. However, this can be difficult because human thoughts have a beginning, whereas God is the Beginning and End (Revelation 1:8). Moreover, God's thoughts are infinitely higher than ours because He is infinitely intelligent.

As we strive to be imitators of God (Ephesians 5:1), it's essential to recognize that our finite minds can't fully comprehend His infinite wisdom. We need to examine how God's thoughts differ from ours. In Isaiah 55:8-9, God says, 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.' He also declares, 'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,' says the LORD.

In this devotional series, we'll be exploring 'The Higher Ways of God' using Isaiah 55:8-9 as our starting point. We'll delve into how God's thoughts are distinct from ours and discover why it's crucial for us to align our thinking with His.
